Section Writing speaks to situations through recognizable forms.

Socially we tend to do certain things in certain situation, like laugh at joke. But in writing it is harder to get a response because it is plain text without physical context. It is very hard because you don’t have gesture, don’t have facial emotions, don’t have live audiences, and don’t have a stage and a microphone speaker. That’s why genre is important because it helps people goes into a specific mood already being prepared.

2.1 Writing represents the world events, ideas, and feelings.

We need to base something on something the readers already familiar with when writing. Thus, there are limitations to text because it is like a symbol, it needs to represent something in real life. It is very hard to produce symbol on nonexistent things.

2.2 Genres  are enacted by writers and readers.

Genre is a habit, a familiar environment for the audience. Recurring social situation. Creating a genre is a social action. Thus, is genre making writer to write boringly? Because it limits the writing to only one kind of social situation.

2.3 Writing is a way of enacting disciplinarity

Citations values the original writers. It gives respect to a set of values.
